Johan Ripman senior. wife Anna karlson the dates are her birth and confirmation and there seems to a connection to the next page. looks like Anna Ripman b.Karlson married Jury Wastmann in 1871.

Well I've only done this for about a year so I'm still a novice. You have to have know some german and a bit of Estonian helps. Often you find a name registry at the back of the "personaalraamat". These books are by parish, village, farms and "husmanplass" often 10-20 years. They are very handy because you can get the whole family on one page. Some areas have many books that have survived. Your area is new to me and it seems that they only go back to 1860 which means that you probably have a lot of searching to do by guessing at the birth dates, marriage dates and trawling hundreds of pages.

You can also join the forum and remit the Ripman(n) name and see if anybody answers. http://www.isik.ee/foorum/. There is an english part but I would post it to Virumaa, Haljala Kihelkond. People do tend to keep an eye on their own districts.
Read the english section just to get an idea.
God natt.
Tiiu
