Our family left Tallinn with the last German convoy in late afternoon of Sept.21,1944. During the morning of Sept.22nd, the convoy was attacked and hospital ship "Moero" was sunk and minesweeper RO-22 was damaged, but was able to proceed to Gotenhafen, arriving during the morning of Sept.23rd.
While this attack was taking place, the German freighter our family was on, was sailing in Swedish waters, between island of Gotland and Swedish mainland. Because of this detour, our ship arrived in Gotenhafen during the evening of September 23rd. Rest of the convoy had arrived during the morning of Sept.23rd.
Can anyone remember the name of this German freighter that sailed through the Swedish waters during Sept.22, 1944?
