Mrs. Dagmar Kahara, age 89 years of Suomi Koti, formerly of Dawson Street, passed away peacefully in hospital on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2002.Born in Narva, Estonia she came to Canada to Alberta in 1950 with her husband John and family, moving to Port Arthur three years later. Dagmar was a member of the Finnish Pentecostal Church and her main devotion besides her religion was her family, always keeping in touch with family and friends near and far.She is survived by her four children Lea Gillies (Kent) of Thunder Bay, Eli "Ben" Kahara (Linda) of Hornepayne, Erkki Kahara of Thunder Bay, Eero Kahara (Beverley) of Marathon, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, one sister Bertha in Estonia, also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives surviving.Predeceased by her husband John, a daughter Miriam, grandson William Joseph, 7 sisters and 2 brothersFuneral services for the late Mrs. Dagmar Kahara will be held on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 1:30 P.M.inthe EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma with Pastor Marko Selkomaa of the Finnish Pentecostal Church officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL.Donations to Saalem Finnish Pentecostal Church would be greatly appreciated
