Hello, I have also traced the Kohus family name from Cincinnati, Ohio to Westphalia, Germany. I have traveled throughout Germany, including Westphalia, and the German people have told me that the name is somewhat odd, and they suspect originated somewhere in the Baltics...i.e., Estonia? I have also had contact with the president of Estonia who informs me, that his staff informs him, that the name is Estonian...it means "court".
