Hi Miranda, Don't want to complicate life, but 1. MIHKELSON is a patronymic and as such there are many different families, all over Estonia with the name that are NOT related. Last names were not used among rural peasants until ca.1830. 2. In the 1920's and 1930's many Estonians, Estonianized their names, eg, MIHKELSON > MIHKELSOO [or something totally unrelated like the author Friedebert TUGLAS, was a MIHKELSON until 1923]. Sometimes different names were chosen by brothers or cousins. Now for a few things to help. Check out http://www.aai.ee/~urmas/urm/vast.html also you might want to look at http://www.magma.ca/~peets/geneologyMainPage.htm for two MIHKELSON's from Viljandi. Good Luck, Arvo
