I am satisfied father's grandmother was Maria von Bistrom, the first wife of Mikhail Pligin bearing him two children Maria b. 1879 and Philip. What happened to her I don't know, whether she died or divorced, I assume this was a possibility. In any event Mikhail remarried again and his second wife Alexandra Z. Konovalovna began bearing him children in 1895. Should anything pertinent come you way in the future perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know. Thanks Roger Leslie.
