Looking for orgin of Gongal Surname

My GG-father's surname was Gongal. I have seen many variations of
Gongal, such as: Gongel,Gongoll,Gongela,Gongalski and Gongalakis. He had lived in Hungary but I found the name in Poland,Prussia and Russia. No one seems to know the orgin, anyone have any ideas?
