resettlement-Baltic refugees after WWII

My family, which is Estonian, was interned in a DP Camp near Hamburg, DE from 1944-1949. They were resettled by the International Refugee Organization (IRO), to Canada in 1949. The IRO went out of existence when the job was considered finished and was succeeded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). I received the following information from: Hannelore Sesterheim,
Dear Mr. Ulesoo,
In reply to your Email of 22 June 1999, please note that all files concerning refugees/displaced persons under the protection of UNRRA/IRO have been deposited with archives of the International Tracing
Service /ITS in Arolsen/Germany (Große Allee 5-9, D-34444 Bad Arolsen). We should like to recommend to address your inquiry to ITS Arolsen directly.
Furthermore, you could also contact the following archives:
- Ms. Marilla B. Guptil, Chief, Archives Unit, United Nations Archives, United Nations, New York, N.Y. 10017, USA
- French National Archives, Paris, France.
We hope that we could help a little bit, at least.
Yours sincerely,UNHCR Berlin.

I hope this is of use to others with similar stories to mine.
