Hi Elizabeth,
I believe the Elizabeth EVA you are seeking was the daughter of John EVA and Elizabeth SHORT, who married 11 Jan 1808 in Sampford Spinney, Devon, England. They had 7 children that I have record of, Elizabeth being the youngest. Elizabeth is recorded as being baptised on7 Dec 1828 at Walkhampton. The next youngest was baptised in 1824, so it's possible there was some delay in her being baptised for some reason.
John is the son of Richard EVA and Elizabeth CURTIS, who were married on 30 Sep 1774 in St. Hilary, in Cornwall. John was baptised 29 Oct 1782, in St. Hilary.
I believe that I may be descended from Richard and Elizabeth, through an older child, Henry, baptised 1780.
Some time shortly after Elizabeth's baptism, John, Elizabeth and the children appear to have moved back down to Cornwall, where John died in 1833.
I believe that Elizabeth EVA, 1826? was living with her brother, Thomas and his family, in the 1841 census, living in Churchtown, Perranuthnoe, Cornwall. Elizabeth listed as Eliza. I then have a marraige of an Eliza EVA to a Richard POWNING, in Aug 1846. Unfortunately ther is no actual age given, just as of age. Her father is given as John, and a miner, as John was. This may account for why you haven't been able to find out how Elizabeth arrived in Australia, or the actual marriage you believe took place in about 1853 there in Australia,
