My husband's family are of EVANS as well.
Jesse married 1. Bessie WEAVER and had a couple children.
he married 2nd. Caroline BERUBE.
They lived Willow Grove, PA area, then moved to Melbourne, FL ca 1955's or so.

The EVANS family as far as my limited research went was of Lancaster Co. PA. Have church records noted of St Anthony of Padua. Gave me a little bit more about the family.

I have a couple small data bases listed on www.rootsweb.ancestry.com as chekwriter and on www.gencircles.com, as MyFamily2005.

Can search for Herman Joseph FISCHER and Living EVANS.
Their son, H. J. "Skip" FISCHER married Living MILLS.

Hope this may help.
My brother-in-law, Gene PETRIE did a lot of research on the MISHOE - PETRIE - EVANS - FISCHER as well.

He may know of some present day EVANS family members, males or female who might if contacted, consider a DNA/MTDNA test.

I am attemtping to convince my son to do a test for me for his father's FISCHER branch of the tree trunk.

Did get my brother to do a DNA test for the MILLS side, and did find 5 other branches of our MILLS family, at least by DNA testing. Not all paper trail connected, still working on that.
Pretty much convinced we are on the right track.
