Fulda Free Press (MN) 12/5/1968 - "Mrs. Ray Chepa and Mrs. John Leinen received a message on Tuesday evening, November 19, telling them of the sudden death of their brother, Claude Evans of Vancouver, Washington, formerly of the Fulda area. Mr. Evans was working on a truck, at the front of his garage, when the hydraulic jack slipped, pinning him underneath. Death was instantaneous. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 23 from the Vancouver Funeral Parlors, with the Rev. Vern F. Brassard of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Florine Dufreene was organist and John Pauley, soloist. Graveside services were held in McCleary, Washington. Claude Evans, son of Thomas H. and Hannah LeVee Evans, was born July 6, 1907 at Fulda, Minnesota. He graduated from the Fulda High School and attended Business College in Minneapolis. He spent his early life in Fulda, engaged in electrical work. In 1942, he went to Washington where he worked in the ship yards during the War. Later he went to Vancouver, where he owned and operated a garage until his death. He was not married. Survivors are a brother Paul of Downey, California; and two sisters: Mrs. Ray Chepa and Mrs. John Leinen of Fulda. Mrs. Ray Chepa and Mrs. John Leinen flew to Vancourver for the funeral."
