I am trying to find information and names of ancestors beyond my great-grandfather and great-grandmother. I have searched and found Evans from the areas I know family members have lived, but I have yet to make a connection. If anyone has any information for me, I'd really appreciate it. Here is what I currently have:
My g-grandfather and g-grandmother on my mom's side of the family were Fred and Amanda Lula Evans. Amanda's maiden name was Martin. He was born May 15, 1885. She was born June 15, 1891. They married on March 24, 1906. They had 9 children, 7 girls and 2 boys. The children's names were Leola Lovell, Ruth Ellen, Beatran (Beatram?) Mae, Edna Marie, Evelyn Lourine, Mildred Jeanette, Anna Fae, Walter Everette, and Emanuel Wilfred. All of the children were supposedly born in La Follette in Tennessee.
Frank Evans died July 27, 1965 and Amanda Lula Evans died Dec. 19, 1966.
I know nothing else about Amanda Evans; however, I do have a copy of an obituary from when Fred's brother died. His brother's name was William L. Evans, born in 1883, who died in 1962. His wife's name is listed as Lucy Lee Evans. The obituary is from Knoxville, TN, so I'm assuming that's where he died. It also lists another brother to them, Robert Evans who was living in La Follette at that time.
As far as I can tell, La Follette, TN; Knoxville, TN; and Indiana are places of interest.
All of this is from my grandma's (Mildred Jeanette) bible. One more thing I'd like to add is that Fred's name is also listed as Fredericlocke at times in this bible.
