According to a book I purchased, written in 1940, called "Southern Lineages"; Elijah Evans was born in Virginia, Married Mary Bird March 30, 1813 and moved with his brothers from Virginia to Wilkes County GA. I also descend from David Evans through his son John. I descend as follows: David Evans, John, William Sr., William Jr., Sarah Frances Evans Johns, Amanda Missouri Johns Conner, Jesse Coleman Conner Sr., Jesse Coleman Conner Jr.
My William Evans also settled in Wilkes County, next to his cousin William, son of Arden. They were both large land owners. The land owned by my Evans family became part of what is now Taliaferro County. There is an Evans Family cemetery close to the Kettle Creek Rev. Battlefield.
