I recall someone looking for info about the
Evelands who came from PA to Ohio. I have a
county history Stockport, OH and surrounding
area that says Frederick Eveland and sons John, Moses, and David occupied the site of Stockport prior to 1815, and elsewhere says that a John Eveland came from Wilkesbarre, PA in 1810. Another article in the same book includes a son Nathanial. Frederick's wife was Lois Evans. It only says that there were several daughters of Frederick who also lived in the area. One of the daughters, Catherine, married a Walter Newton on 6/7/1849 and had 12 children. No dates, but it does say that David wed Nancy Newton, John wed Harriet Newton. The Newtons are still strong in that area and have many histories available in and around Stockport, Oh. This info was found in "STOCKPORT OHIO, A COMPENDIUM OF HISTORICAL INFO...1834-1984. THERE IS MORE IN THERE ALSO.
