If you can check message #5 on Genforum by Sylvia Cates posted 9/6/98 (Re: Eveland Genealogy). It might give you a starting point for the Evelands. We are indeed from Germany and came over in early 1700 to NJ. So many Evelands settled in the Bloomsburg/Fishing Creek/Catawissa area that it is difficult to say exactly where your mother fits in without more info. I was born and raised in Catawissa. I have a great deal of info on the Evelands of the 1700's and 1800's. I don't check genforum often but you can reach me at
