I have some research of an Eveland descendant that traces the change in name from Iffland to Eveland. He also tentatively identified the family of Johann David Iffland (David Eveland), immigrant, who married Anna Maria _____. There were at least 7, and probably a couple more, children. One of them is named Mary, born after 1724, Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co., N.J. Could this be your Mary? My information does not list a spouse.

The information I have states that Johann David Iffland arrived with his wife and one child at least as early as June 28, 1710 in New York. They moved up the Hudson River to Livingston Manor. They moved to West Amwell Township during the period 1716-1722. In 1722 David "Eviland" was listed as an early settler of West Amwell Township. Eviland, Ifland, and Iffland appear for another generation, then Eveland is the spelling in all the records after that.

I descend through Frederick, b. 1720, probably in New Jersy and have some information on that line.

Let me know if you want more information. If you think there is a connection, I would love information about Frederick's siblings.
