You might want to try the following link to a well researched Eveland website and see if you can find any information that could be helpful.

http://www.geocities.com/watsgw1155/eveland/

John Eveland and wife Elizabeth Jones came out of Luzerne County, PA (the Wyoming Valley area) and into Tioga county, New York in about 1787. By 1797, they were residing in Washington County, OH and that area later became Morgan County, OH. They next moved into Kentucky for a while and then, by the time most of the children were adults, they came into the area that became Fulton County, IL, where they were one of the first families into the area along the Spoon River near Waterford. He had a large family of children. Perhaps your John Eveland is a grandson or descendant of his, as many of John Eveland and Elizabeth Jones's children would have been born in Ohio and your message states that the parents of your John Eveland were born in Ohio.
Gary Watson's website for the Eveland family is a good place to start looking, even if you cannot find your John Eveland, it may give you some places to start looking.
Good luck.
