Hiya Folks,
I'm a member of several sites. I'll be posting the details of this event on each of the sites. Hopefully rhis means you'll meet many people with a wide variety of interests including Family History. There's a smallish event on Saturday 2nd Sept at the Rotterdam Bar in Belfast. This bar has an interesting history as convicts were held there before being transported to Australia and Van Diemen's Land. I intend to go for a birthday drink. The proper events are on the last Saturday of each month. The one below is on 30th September. These events are the result of a conversation with a friend of mine who lives in Scotland. Hw stayed a few days with me when he came to Belfast for a Rootschat meet on Saturday 29th July.
See the historical sights of Belfast from a different angle. The 37ft long, 13.6ft wide with a 3ft draught MV "Joyce Too" belonging to the Lagan Boat Co. is one of four Admiralty tenders built on the Thames in 1972. We'll be taking the Titanic Tour starting at 2.00pm there is an earlier one 12.30 and a later one at 3.30 If you have your names down and decide not to come please let me know prior to Wednesday 28th The tour last about 75 minutes and costs £7.00 & concessions £6.00
There's a big event for those interested in Family History (Genealogy) in Dublin sometime next summer .. probably during June. Everyone, whether interested in Family History or not is welcome. Most people will be organising their own accommodation. Please contact me if you are interested. Yhis event will last three days. I can see no way at Genforum to vote .. those who would prefer a different date are welcome to vote on the Rootschat board. I am sure many of you, like me, are on several genealogy sites.
