“Wives & Daughters: Genealogy and the Female Ancestor,” a special family history event in celebration of Women’s History Month, at the Enoch Pratt Free Library/State Library Resource Center, 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, Saturday, March 15, 2008. 10:30a.m. – 3:00p.m. Special guest speakers: At 10:30 - Maureen Taylor (The ‘Photo Detective’), internationally recognized photo identification expert and family historian will present “Bringing the Past to Light: Photographs of the Women in Your Family,” an interactive talk about the intersection of photographs, genealogy, and family history. Bring your own family photo mysteries to the program. At 1:30 - Barbara Vines Little, CG, past president of the National Genealogical Society and editor of the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, will speak on “Teasing the Silent Woman from the Shadows of History,” discussing how records produced by men can help us discover what these women ancestors and their lives were really like.
