In the course of compiling DESCENDANTS OF ANDREW EVEREST OF YORK, MAINE (1955) Winifred Lovering (Holman) Dodge (1899-1989) accumulated a great deal of data on the Everest and related families, which she deposited at the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) in Boston. The call number of this manuscript collection is SG-EVE-7. Manuscripts held at NEHGS are for use by members only ($50/yr., includes discounts on paid research and publications, unlimited use of its Boston library, access to its circulating collection, plus a year of its journals, etc. etc.). Write NEHGS, 101 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116, (617) 536-5740.

As a descendant of the Emma (Everest) Gilbert you cite, you are apparently rather closely related to David Clark Everest, for whom Miss Holman compiled this very, very fine book. I'm a descendant of David D. Everest (p. 191), through his daughter Eugenia (Everest) Follett (1839-1928), my matrilineal great-grandmother, who was not in the data some rather distant cousins sent to one of the previous Everest compilers (he and wife Parmelia ---- had seven children, not the three given in the book).

Good luck with your research!
