I dont know if you are still researching but
John Everest b1839 was the son of Jane Payne who married William Everest b1812 Speldhurst kent in 1841 His birth cert shows John Payne but he adopted the Everest name after Jane and William were married as per 1851 census.John married Mary Ann payne and had 3 children Mary Agnes b1864 John b1865 and George b1872 but died 1872.
