Descendants of Wm & Caroline (Alexander) Evers 1800 in PA
Posted by: Mary Evers (ID *****5527) Date: April 25, 2003 at 00:06:38

Wm. Evers married Caroline Jane Alexander and lived in Pa for a period of time. Two sons & one daugter were born in PA that are known at this time. From 1806 to 1828, I don't have documented proof where, what happened or when till 1828. My father-in-law states that they came down the Ohio River to Kentucky, but then he also heard that they came through North Carolina. James, John, William names are popular with the family. In 1830 John is in Graves Co, KY but James is in McCracken Co, KY which is next to each other. By 1840, both brothers are in Graves Co, KY. Before the start of the Civil War, both brothers and the younger children moved to So. Illinois and settled there. The ones left behind in Kentucky were married with families. At this point, the family scatters at the turn of the century. Some traveled to Tulsa, OK; Eureka Springs, AR; Florida, Michigan, South America, Washington, California, Ohio and more.

I will list some of the names married into the Evers Family.
Alexander, Grimes,Ritchey, Hooppaw, Brookshire, Green, Boaz, Mathews,Douglas, Cop(e)land, Startks, Little, Barnett,Smith, Clark, Hawkins, Pryor, Burradell, Beard,Dejarnette, Taylor, Kull, Feezor, Ray, Gaunt,Covington, McGee, Hitchcock, Meyer, Lippert,McInty(i)re, Blasdel, Kennedy, Shelton,Jett, Bryant, Armstrong, Parks, Comeau, Bayless, Trovillion.

I would appreciate hearing from those that may be connected.
