I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I am from Dadeville, Alabama. My uncle was James Lester Evers. He was killed in September, 1944 in WW2 (Operation Market Garden). He was 21 years old. The family lived about 7 miles north of Dadeville, Alabama near the current Horseshoe Bend National Military Park where in 1814 Andrew Jackson fought and defeated the Creek Indians (which opened Alabama up for settlement).
