John Ewalt is listed in the 1753 East Nantmeal Taxables, Chester Co, PA. He married Sarah Dunckley in 1748/9. Neighbor John Patrick was her brother-in-law, married to her sister Anna Dunckley.

Richard & Esther Dunkley had 9 children: Oliver (died before 1748 without issue), John (moved to Yadkin Valley, Rowan NC in 1750s and to Fairfield Co, SC in 1770), Ann (m. Victor Neely, moved to Fairfield Co SC in 1754), Jean (probably died before 1750), Anna (m. John Patrick, stayed in E. Nantmeal), Mary (m. Richard Neely, moved to NC with brother John in 1750s), Hester, Sarah (m. John Ewalt), and Rebecca.

I would like to know what became of John & Sarah Ewalt of E. Nantmeal. I notice a STRONG similarity in names between Sarah's siblings and the names of the children of a John Ewalt that I've seen posted as born in Bavaria in 1707, died in Bedford, Cumberland Co, PA and had a wife Sarah. His wife Sarah is listed as also coming from Bavaria, which is either true and these are two different Johns OR perhaps they are the same John Ewalt, but an error was made in gathering the wife's information.

Anyone who has information on the Palatine, please check your records and verify that there is no way for his wife Sarah to be my Sarah Dunkley who was born about 1726-1732 in PA and married for the first time to a John Ewalt of East Nantmeal in 1748-1749. I would like to know the evidence, too, to help me keep them separated.

Anyone who has information on John Ewalt and Sarah of East Nantmeal -- I have proof that his wife was Sarah Dunckley! And look forwrd to learning more about the family.
