Portrait of Peter Folger Ewer (1800-1855), whaling merchant

The Summer 2011 issue of ANTIQUES & FINE ART magazine on p. 121 pictures a fine portrait of Peter Folger Ewer (1800-1855) in the year 1828. He was a whaling merchant in Nantucket, MA, at the time. He later lived in Providence, RI, Chile, and California where he died in San Francisco.

I am scanning this portrait in case any of Peter Ewer's descendants might like a copy freely by email. Someone in the family ought to have it--it's too good to be missed by the family.

My email address can be found by clicking on my name above. Please reply to me directly at this address by email rather than by posting a reply on this site, which I may not see.

If it were a portrait of a Mr. Pease, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.

Bill Pease, Lancaster, PA
