The genealogy I have starts with Thomas the progenitor of the family hee in the US who left England on the "James Joseph" in May of 1635 and landed at Charlestown, Mass. in June, 1635. He was at that time, according to the shipping list, forty years of age and was accompanied by his wife and two children, Elizabeth (born 1631) and Thomas (born 1633). The two oldest children were left in England.
So the Thomas Ewer - 1633 you refer to was 2 years of age when he arrived. I have not personally reseached back beyond his father, but seem to remember on one of the many genealogy sites that shows Thomas born in 1593 in England along with some other references as to the part of Engand he came from - I believe it was in West Yorkshire (around where the Bronte Sisters lived).
I will see if I still have the sites bookmarked and send them to you. Meanwhile try searching on Google (www.google.com) it's a good search engine for these types of searches.
