I think you might get some information you are looking for if you contact Dianne Exner of Yorkton Sask or Elmer Exner of Calgary Alberta or read the book which they wrote published in 1993. It outlines the full history of the Exner family that emigrated from Bukovina (now part of the Ukraine). The book is called the "Exner Family History " and was published by Redeemer's Voice Press in Yorkton. I would try the library in Regina, who knows, they might have one. It is a hard-cover book and it will help you if you are a descendant of Martin Exner and Cecilia Baumgartner and their children:(All Exner's of course): Anton Martin, Johanna, Heinrich, Johann, Gertrude, Barbara. I am a descendant of Anton Martin, my grand-father was Isidor Exner and my father is John Exner You see, our ascendants migrated from Germany to Bukovina, lived there for many years, then migrated to Canada in the late 1800's and early 1900's for many different reasons (not much land, the boys had to spend time in the army, etc,) . Those that stayed in Bukovina, ended up fleeing in later years because of the wars. In 1939 Germany left Bukovina to the Ukraine and all the ethnic Germans there were pulled out. Some returned to Austria and Germany. Some migrated to Canada.
I myself was born and raised in Killaly and I am 43. Maybe your grand-parents were from Molodia and you don't even know it!
