Thank you for the information on Wedhampton; tomorrow I will go back to my English web sites and see if I can find it by using another location near it.I am trying to print out village history and church photos of the ancestral homelands. What I am looking for is information on Ann Eyre b abt 1527 who md. William Howell abot 1550; she was supposedly /possibly the daughter of John Eyre and Ellin Croker- not certain. The source I used got the information from a visitation but there is NO mention of a daghter Ann to this Eyrs family although it does state there was at least one daughter, Edith. The names of the places are spelled in such a way that is is hard to know what they are - Wedhampton in one place; Wheathampton in another; Erchefount (?) - all supposedly in Wiltshire. Ann Eyre had married first to James Hampton, 2d to William Howell (my line) and 3rd to a Mr. Tacketh (sp?).Due to lack of resources in the last few years, I have not been able to do much research on English families.
