My father's father's father was named Archie Elmer Bessey, but he was adopted. His birth name was Archibald Faber. He was born November 23, 1881 in Oakland, Maine and died June 5, 1944 in Oakland, ME. He was adopted at the age of three, on June 4,1885, by Howard and Mary Bessey. The court document stated that his parents were unknown, ceased to provide for his support, and that he had no legal guardian nor next of kin in the state of Maine. Archie married Bertha L. Bickford on December 5, 1904. I have no idea who his parents were or where they came from. If anybody has any info that may be helpful, please feel free to email me. Thank you.
