Hi there fellow Faber`s

I wish to try and find out about my origins, Faber is my surname now but my mother mentioned before that it could have been Fabre or such, i have very limited information as to my origins and was hoping that maybe joining this site or similliar that i could at some point get head way on this.

My grandfathers full names as far as i know were, John Baptist Faber and he fought in the second world war, he apparently was shot through the stomach and spent some time in a concentration camp after which he ended up in South Africa, he was stationed in the northern parts of africa.

I am trying desperatly to get more information but to no avail, i hope that someone could maybe point me in the right direction.

Many Thanks

Frank John Faber
