Hi, my name is Maria - my mother is a Fabrizio. she was born in Dogliola, as I was.We emigrated to Canada in 1958. My grandfather was Giuseppe, he had 2 brothers, Nicola and Antonio, and one sister Anna DeLibertis. Antonio is still living - in Hamilton, Ontario and has 2 sons, 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. Nicola also has two sons, Michele (Prato, Italy) and Dante - who lives in your town of Cortland. Anna also lives in Cortland. Anna's husband, Lilio just passed away last week. Dante and Filomena of Cortland you probably know.
I live in northern Ontario with my husband Steve and our two girls Julia (almost 13) and Miriam (9).
The rest of our family lives in Toronto and Hamilton. there are quite a few Fabrizio's. I will give you a quick run-down:
Giuseppe (deceased 1969) - first wife Maria, second wife, Angiolina (deceased 2001). Son John (wife Maria, daughers Mary-Ellen, Lisa - husband Tiziano - daughters Nicolette and Sophie - expecting baby boy end of February - and youngest daughter of John: Jennifer); my mother Giovina (known as Gina) married to Gennaro Farina (deceased 2000), their daughters Maria (me), Ornella (John, daughter Marta); Patrizia (Tony, children Tiana and James); Ubaldo (known as Bob, wife Mary, son Joey - wife Maria, brand new son Giuseppe, born Dec. 2001); half-sister Maria (Frank, daughter Cristina, sons Alexander and John-Paul).
Antonio Fabrizio - wife Antonietta, sons Mario and John. Mario's wife is Anna - children Marco, Antonio, Sonia and Jessica (how do you like that? another Jessica). Antonio is married to Isa, Marco is getting married this year. John is married to Joanne and they have 4 lovely daughters Mara, Antonietta, Michelle and Elizabeth.
Nicola Fabrizio (deceased 1999, I think), wife Teresa, sons Michele (wife Emma and 2 daughters in Italy); Dante (wife Filomena, daughter Sheila and son, I'm embarrassed I can't recall his name - is it Michael??)- Dante and his family live in Cortland.
Anna DeLibertis - husband Lilio deceased 2002, daughter Anna-Maria. My mother was in Cortland just this past week for Zio Lilio's funeral.
As you can tell, we have a lot of Maria's in the family. This is the first time I've been to this site, and I was so excited. Please e-mail me back, let me know about you. Have you ever been to Dogliola - it's just beautiful! How old are you? What's your link to the Fabrizio's? Are you related to Dante and family? Are you Sheila's daughter??? I'm so curious!
