I just found this set of messages and would be most interested in learning more about the Faddens in Avoca. I am the last surviving descendant of Francis (Frank Fadden) son of Michael Fadden. He was not a physician as referenced in one e-mail but worked at Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock and died around 1934-5 (I will soon be able to be more accurate as I am piecing together more information). He did have 3 children ... my Mother was his youngest and died recently at 92. His children were Anna Genevieve Fadden (McGuire) and Helen Jeannette Fadden (Briggs) of Washington, Dr. Frances Joseph Fadden of Englewood NJ. Frank Fadden left Avoca shortly before 1900 to move to Newport News with his wife Katherine (Kathryn ?) Quinn also of Avoca. There appears to have been a rift ... but I don't know more than that.
I would be very interested in any information about where in Ireland Michael Fadden was born. Also, there are references in my Aunt's papers to being a cousin of Arthur Fadden, ex prime minister of Australia, and looking at pictures there is a definite family resemblance.
