John & Catherine Fagala - Sevier TN 1860

Hope a Fagala researcher can help me sort this out.

I am primarily researching the line of William Rose who married Harriet. Harriet is thought to be a Sweatman, but the age of her oldest daughter, Mary, suggests she had been married prior to William Rose.

I finally found Harriet in 1860, Sevier Co., TN, and she is listed in the home of John and Catherine Fagala (ages 64? and 56). Listed as Sweatmon/Sweatman are Harriet, age 23?, Mary age 5, and Harrison age 16.

Also, in 1880, the Mary (thought to be Harriet's daughter) has married Lafayette Finley. This Lafayette is found in 1860 as the probable son of a widowed Elizabeth Finley. Elizabeth, age 47, is living in a home headed by Ellen Rose, age 30.

Can anyone tell me what these relationships are between the folks mentioned above? Does anyone know if Sweatman is Harriet's maiden name or was she a Fagala?

Hope someone can help!!

Brenda Hawkins
