Christopher Fagan-Pottsville or Hazleton, Pa.
Posted by: Margaret Weathers (ID *****2548) Date: May 05, 2010 at 18:41:13
  of 1703

Looking for relatives and info on Christopher Fagan b. 1840 in Pottsville, Pa., first generation American, later moved to Hazleton, Pa. He was a Civil War vet with the 28th Pa. Infantry and the 11th Pa. Cavalry. His father may have been PATRICK FAGAN who emigrated to Schuykill county, Pa. about 1839 from Ireland. Christopher married JANE CRAIG b. 1838 in Scotland, daughter of JOHN CRAIG & MARY WYLIE who emigrated to Hazleton, Pa. between 1844-46. Christopher & Jane's children were Margaret, Kate, Mary, Robert, Stuart, Christopher & George. All were close to the Clyde family of Hazleton, Pa. The 1840 census of Pottsville, Pa. shows only one family named Fagan and the head of household was Patrick Fagan. Christopher had at least 3 brothers and 2 sisters; don't know their names. May possibly be related to ANN FAGAN who emigrated to Pottsville, Pa. between 1840-1850.
