I'm a Fagin with a Jewish Russian heritage, but I never knew the name of the shtetle -- could be the one you're talking about. My great-grandfather, Louis, came to Brooklyn around 1904 or so, then took the family to Oklahoma and settled there. Where are the Fagins that you're related to? and do you know anything about the etymology of the name in a Russian context?
