Looking for Tom Fahey, 1946 London.

I have been looking for my birth-father, Tom Fahey. I have searched the public records in London and Dublin but I can’t find anything that quite seems to fit the few facts that I have so that I can start to search back and find my Irish roots.

My Tom came over from Ireland as a student to work in a factory near Birmingham England where my birth-Mum worked as a secretary. This was about 1945/6. He then moved down to London to stay with his sister and wanted my mum to move down to London with him. Apparently my grandma burned all his letters so things must have been a bit tricky and all contact was lost. My mum thinks he was the same age as her so he would have been born around 1922. She thinks he was from the “Shannon” area of Ireland.

Dave Stacey.
