McManus /Fahey from Ireland
Posted by: John (ID *****6570) Date: September 22, 2007 at 11:05:06

My mothers grandparents, James McManus b1882, and Mary Agnus Fahey b 1886 Bealnamullia, Athlone. Both claimed to be from Athlone, Roscommon. James came to the US in 1906 and Mary in 1910. They married in 1917 in San Francisco. James's parents are listed as John McManus and I have Mary Graham. Mary's parents as James Fahey b abt.1855 and Catherine (possibly Norton) b 1857

I have found Mary and Catherine in the 1901 Ireland census (James died before 1900 and Catherine remarried) but cannot locate James McManus in Ireland. Mary had a brother Martin who settle in Oakland, CA.

James had a sister Kate (Katherine) and may have had brothers Pathrick and Thomas ( all list Graham as mother on death records) all who ended up in California.

Does any of this sound familiar? Any help would be appreciated.

John
