Greetings:

I am also the great grandchild of Edward P. Fahey and Johanna Dwyer. Edward P. Fahey, who was in Company B of the 1st Massachusetts Cavalry, captured at Beaver Dam Station, Va. on May 10 1864, and transported to Libby Prison, Va., then to Andersonville Prison, Ga., exchanged and paroled March 15, 1865, then went into the U.S. Navy for a while to improve his health, for he had lost his hair and teeth at Andersonville.

After the war, my great grandparents lived in or near Littleton Colorado.

My grandfather is Paul Aloyssius Fahey, their son. Paul Fahey was born in Colorado. Paul lived in Galveston, Texas most of his adult life. He died in 1964, and left four children. I believe Paul had a sister or sisters, one of which must be your grandparent.

At any rate, my father, Edward Paul Fahey, Sr., born Galveston, Tx., March 28, 1923, researched and wrote a family geneaology in the early 1990s.

If you like I can mail you a copy of his genealogy. But, I believe my father had some trouble researching back into Ireland for the period prior to 1850, and was only able to discover the names of Johanna Dwyer's parents and Edward P. Fahey's parents.

Very nice to know you, a relative I did not know I had.

Best regards,

Edward P. Fahey, Jr.
Laredo, Texas

P.S. I have a photo of Edward P. Fahey, taken sometime in the 1890s, if you'd like a copy of it.
