Fehler is a German surname with the EH sounding as "A." The above spelling variations came occurred upon immigration to the US.
It appears my family is descended from Hans Adam Fehler born in Germany in 1718 and immigrated to the US 1738. He was married to Anna Maria Dorothea Turckerin. They had 15 children but I have information on only two -- John Adam Fehler and John George Fehler. My particular branch of the Fahler family desended from John GEORGE Fehler and came through Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
If anyone has more information on eith John Adam or John George, I would enjoy hearing from you.
