I have been in touch with Homer Ficken who does lookups at the Benton Co, MO site and he has verified the following information re: Faler/Failer cemetaries: From the book "31 Benton Co. Cemetaries", there are 3 Failer cemetaries. 1. Failer Cem (graves relocated to Shawnee Bend Cem) 2. Failer/Faler Cem #1 - T41, R22, Sec 33 West of US65, 2mi so of Poplar, est 1915 3. Failer/Faler Cem #2 - T41, R21, Sec 31, 1 mile west of Edmonson, est 1915 The graves moved to Shawnee Bend were moved before the book was published in 1969, stating "...[the cemetary is] in the Kaysinger Basin and will be under water when Kaysinger Dam is completed." The Failer's we are related to that were moved to Shawnee Bend were: Alonzo R and Henrietta G (same stone) Sara 1825-1902 John 1819-1894 Infant 1919-1919 Florence 1921-1921 Adam and Catherine (same stone) Apparently there were 30+ unmarked graves listed as "unknown." In another book, "Another Job Done" by Dianne Peck, she finds the the following sites: Silas B. Yount and Eliza C. Failer Yount She writes "Eliza Yount died in 1953. My father and another neighbor hand dug the grave and since she has ties to the Failer family she was buried here on the old homestead." This place is the cemetary one mile west of Edmonson. Dianne's map shows it to be south of Farm Road SE310. She further relates "Jacob and Matilda are the originals here (I think?). This is an old pioneer family with most of their history missing." She also states that this is private property and the gate is usually locked. There is also a large pink marble stone that was never inscribed, it is completely blank.
