Hi Brian in "down under". I am from Texas. I don't think we have a match. GEORGE FAIRBAIRN (b. Scotland 1795, d. Scotland 1890) married MARGARET DINN (b. Scotland 1796 d. Scotland 1893). Their son, WILLIAM DINN FAIRBAIRN (b. 26 Oct 1835 in Edinburg, Scotland, d. April 1919 place unknown) married EMMA SLY on 10 Oct 1876, place unknown. EMMA SLY b. 9 Dec 1885, d. 24 Jan 1937, places unknown.
They did have a son, GEORGE FAIRBAIRN, b. 1878 and d. 1936 (places unknown) who was one of seven: JAMES b. 5 Apr 1884, GEORGE b. 1878, IDA b. 1880, FRED b. 1882, MARY b. 1886, JOHN EDWARD b. 1890 and PEARL b. 1893. The eldest, JAMES, is my husband's grandfather. JAMES' wife's name was ELIZABETH PIEL. Their daughter, Emma Louise Fairbairn, married Lynden Erwin Almquist, who was my father-in-law. I have just started researching the Almquist name.
The Fairbairn name was already researched but I do not know where the information originated. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? If so, we may have a match.
