I'm trying to find information about my father (George Fairbairn)'s family. My father was born in Cockburnspath in 1909, immigrated to Guelph Canada with my mother, Margaret Noble in 1948 and died in Guelph in 1992. According to my mother's recollections, my father's father was a blacksmith. His name was "George Crow Fairbairn". He married my grandmother, Christianna Maddock Fairbairn (maiden name Putt) on December 30th, 1898 in Cockburnspath.
My father's siblings were: Elizabeth (Bette), Peggy, Jack and Jim. Bette was
a nurse who settled in the north of Scotland (Castletown) with her lifelong
partner Mina MILLER. Peggy married John GRASICK (?); Jack married Mina
COCHRANE. Jim also married and had a daughter called Pat.
I'd love to hear back from anyone who may have more news!
