I am trying to find more detail on my gg grandfather Robert Fairbairn. He was born approximately 1816, married Elizabeth Stewart in 1841 in Edinburgh (and was a butler in Edinburgh at this time), had three children Jane (1842), Hannah (1844) and George (1846) in Glasgow then Robert (my g grandfather) in 1851 possibly Edinburgh. He was also a wine merchant in Glasgow at some point. I can not find his birth or death records or who his parents were. Also do not know what happened to George Fairbairn. Can anyone help?
