Just to keep our records straight:

George Milne Fairbairn who married Jane McDowell is the son of Robert Fairbairn & his first wife, Helen Milne. Thomas Fairbairn who married Mary Middlemiss(mas) is his brother, and both are brothers to my ancester Christiana Fairbairn.

Your ancestor Robert Fairbairn who married Jessie Izillia Doan had a brother, Thomas, who married Mary Frances Doan Jessie's sister. Other siblings are: Jane Fairbairn m. James Kendrick; Ellen Fairbairn; John Fairbairn m. Fanny Louise Massengal(e); George Fairbairn m. Elizabeth Amelia Frith; Flora Grace Fairbairn m. William Dixon Ure; Clifford Peter Fairbairn m. 1st Kate Phillpot, 2nd Abigail Dempster & 3rd Martha Baker.

Robert Fairbairn our ancestor who came here to NA in 1836, primarily Essex County, was the son of Thomas Fairbairn & Elspeth Wood who are buried in Fogo Berwickshire Scotland. Robert had brothers who came here too - primarily settling in Michigan were brothers James who married Margery Rose, and Thomas Fairbairn who also married a Mary Middlemiss(mas) the aunt of the Mary Middlemiss who married Thomas above. It is believed that a sister Isobel (Fairborn/Fairbairn) Luke came here as well.
