Hi Sanna,

I'm getting thoroughly confused with this family.
Just to throw something else in the mix, I did a search of my db for FAIRBAIRN with Lanton somewhere in the place.
Up came the prime candidate for "my" James FAIRBAIRN, son of Archibald and Alison (CROSSER).
Well, at least I assume that son James is the one who erected the h/stone for James CROSSER who was buried in Eckford in 1842 "portioner of Lanton", "erected by affectionate nephew James Fairbairn". Not that I know that my Alison had a brother James, but it is likely.

Regards

Lorna
