John, I think your wife's William is a different one to the William George that Janis is interested in. However, I'm interested in your William. Check out: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=lornahenderson&id=I33182 for the basic BMD data I have so far on this family. Don't suppose the family bible says where in Scotland he was born? His obit says Glasgow and I"m trying to figure out how (un)likely that is. My repetitive refrain is "I'd love to be put in contact with a male FAIRBAIRN descendant of this lot". Particularly one willing to join the FAIRBAIRN surname DNA project http://worldfamilies.net/surnames/fairbairn/ (very good discounts available until the end of September should anyone be interested in representing their line) I would rather like to "prove" the linkage I show from Robert back to Archibald, as it is somewhat tentative. Happy to swap info on the family. Lorna Waikanae, NZ http://familytree.lornahen.com/spFAIRBAIRN.htm Notify Administrator about this message?
