I don't know what it is about this but it just drives you on to know more! I didn't know the village had a web site.

I was there a couple of years ago and spent an afternoon in the churchyard (the old one) looking at names and trying to piece them all together in families I really need to spend a month in that churchyard I think.
Mind you there are many of us Fairbairn offspring out there doing this and they all have great sources of information like your self.

Does the book that you have Tom show a picture of two Fairbairn brothers in military uniform (one stood one sitting) called Alexander and David , that is my Grandfather Alexander and his brother

I believe my uncle has the book in NSW
