I now think that the 1907 passenger list is a badly written Patrick P, not C, FAIRBAIRN as I've found Patrick Playfair FAIRBAIRN, Assistant Town Clerk, marrying Olivia HOHENKERK in 1893 (Jane Margaret McTAGGART died 1887).
The 1881 census Helen McGUFFIE was nee McTAGGART and the IGI shows extracted records showing her as sister to Jane Margaret.
