Daniel,
I don't think I've got back to you with my conclusions re John A FAIRBAIRN of Hoquiam etc.

DNA testing has shown an excellent batch between a descendant of John A FAIRBAIRN of Hoquiam, and a descendant of William, believed to be a brother of the David I now believe was John A FAIRBAIRN's father, despite what certificates say.

http://dnasurnames.info/lineages/p1129.htm is an introductory link, and more information on John is available at
http://familytree.lornahen.com/p32772.htm

Lorna
