In a family bible for William Hardie Fairbairn there is a newspaper cutting for the following marriage:
Glasgow: At Broomhill Cottage, on the 18th instant, by the Rev. John Forbes, D.D., LL.D of Free St. Paul’s Mr. John B. Hardie to Matilda, eldest daughter of Walter Linn, Esq., Caledonian Railway” In the margin is 1862 December.
There is an entry on IGI for this marriage (M119151 1855 – 1874 refers) for Springburn, Lanark.
It anyone can link this marriage with a William Hardie Fairbairn born March 10th 1822 I would be very grateful.
